Nice and Around Nice

The pros and cons of the Musiciens area

You can walk from one end of Nice to the other in less than an hour, so you can dip in and out of areas very easily. Even so, the location can be important to guests who want to get the most out of their holiday rental apartment.

holiday apartments NiceThe Musicians quarter is the leafy and pretty cluster of streets named after famous composers including Rue Verdi, Rue Rossini, Place Mozart and Rue Jacques Offenbach. Just North of Victor Hugo and West of Nice Etoile, this area stretches up to the train station. With head tilted as you wander around this elegant area you can enjoy all the wonderful facades of the belle époque years when Nice was brimming with architectural self confidence.

Just behind the Carre d'Or area, the Musiciens quarter is still central but a little further back from the beach and Promenade. Good restaurants thrive around here as the area caters for well heeled residents as well as the tourists. It is a quiet and safe area and there are a few car parks around, the biggest being Mozart. With the newly built tramway, the area is much more accessible to tourists than it used to be. The Musiciens area is a good choice if you are happy to be just outside the main hustle and bustle so you can take advantage of a quieter spot of town.

rental apartments in NiceNice’s most visited attraction, The Cathedrale Russe (The Russian Cathedrale) is close to the Musiciens quarter. Completed in 1912, this opulent and still active place of worship shouldn’t be missed by sight-seers. You can find it on Boulevard du Tzarewitch.
