Hotel Amore Plage, 47 Promenade des Anglais The sun is out, not a cloud in sight, where better to eat than the beach! Hotel Amore Plage is open all year round and offers a great lunch menu in an unbeatable setting.

Fantastic pizza, what else to say!

Kalos, 11 rue Bonaparte PORT
Cheap, laid back and extremely delicious. This Greek street-food restaurant on rue Bonaparte provides a selection of different pita sandwiches and dishes, including a vegan option. Extremely tasty and always busy, they don’t take reservations, but you won’t have to wait long for a table.

Chez Papa, 9 rue Bonaparte PORT
Chez Papa serves a great selection of traditional southern dishes, think baked camembert, tuna tartare, gambas linguine and lots of charcuterie. Run by a friendly and lively group of Corsicans, the portion sizes are generous, and the wine list is extensive.

Carmela, 3 Pl. Charles Félix OLD TOWN/COURS SALEYA
The Cours Saleya, home to the famous flower market, is a beautiful and iconic place to eat, but it’s a known fact amongst locals that most of the restaurants are disappointing. This is not the case with Carmela. Sophisticated and stylish this restaurant provides 5-star service and a delicious French/Italian menu - for a digestible price.

Brasserie Wilson, 21 Rue de l'Hôtel des Postes, WILSON
Just a block from the Durandy tram stop, this traditional French bistrot restaurant always has a ‘plat du jour’ for less than 15eur. They don’t take reservations for lunch so we recommend getting there between 12pm -12.30pm. They do take reservations for the evenings. Bar des Oiseaux, 5 Rue Saint-Vincent OLD TOWN
You can’t go wrong with Bar des Oiseaux. Fresh local produce deliciously prepared by an experienced team of chefs with a changing seasonal menu. Set in the heart of the Old Town, this restaurant is also a great choice for art lovers with it’s walls adorned with Matisse, Kahlo, Picasso and Hokusai.
The owner of this restaurant also owns: Bistrot d’Antione, Comptoir du Marché and TYPE 55, all equally as good.

Peixes, 4 Rue Jaques Médecin OLD TOWN/MASSENA and Rue Bonaparte
Peixes is the place to go if you’re looking for great ceviche. Small but mouth-watering dishes with the freshest possible fish. So popular they have recently opened a second address on rue Bonaparte and a third on rue Catherine Segurane.

Chez Pipo, 13 Rue Bavastro PORT
Socca is a tradtional Nicois pancake made from chick-pea flour. It can be found all over Nice but if you ask the locals, Chez Pipo is the best. Along with socca they also do great pissaladière, soupe au pistou and a range of different tapenades served with crusty toasted bread. Perfect with an ice-cold beer.

Le Banthai, 29 Rue Droite OLD TOWN
You will find a lot of Vietnamese restaurants in Nice along with more generic Asian fast-food. But Le Banthai is the real deal when it comes to authentic Thai food. Serving a range of classic dishes such as pad Thai, green curry, fried rice, nems and papaya salad, this small and busy restaurant is very popular with locals and tourists alike. Book in advance.

Jan, 12 rue Lascaris, PORT
If you’re looking for somewhere extra special for a celebratory meal, then Jan is a great choice. Serving a fusion of South African and Mediterranean cuisine, it is a truly unique culinary experience, with a selection of different tasting menus that each take you on a journey, combined with a fabulous selection of wine. Recognised for its excellence with a Michelin star and situated in the Port, Jan is one you’ll remember but be prepared to pay around 200€ per person.
