Rue Dalpozzo

You can easily miss Rue Dalpozzo, but you shouldn’t if you’re looking for great little venues where the friendly vibes and excellent cuisine brings more word of mouth business than any advertising or high -rents-for-high-footfall ever could.

The locals eat here, alongside the tourists who have found the street on a previous visit and keep coming back for more.

Head to TriBeCa Wine Bar (1 bis Rue Dalpozzo) for fun, fresh cocktails, and fancy – and not so pricy – wine, as well as cold platters such as brie with truffles or homemade foie gras to soak up the alcohol. is a fancy, and friendly place, in which it's possible to taste some fresh cocktails, good wines from France and abroad, it also has a selection of delicious small plates.

Inside there’s a cosy modern bar, and outside a few tables where you can sip a bottle (or two) whilst keeping an eye on the locals looking enviously at your camembert and thyme platter as they solider home from work.

Tribeca regularly receives great reviews that mention its friendly staff, great food and drink and overall great atmosphere.

A few doors up is the unpretentious Bistro Dalpozzo, (10 rue Dalpozzo) serving up fries and burgers, sea bass, baked camembert and those famous French snails – escargots - to couples and larger groups, often with a musicien adding to a cheerful and upbeat atmosphere. English is spoken and it’s a mixed crowd of tourists and locals.

Le Mandarin, (6 rue Dalpozzo) an authentic Vietnamese restaurant offering extremely fresh Pho soup, Bo Bun, spring rolls, noodles- the menu is endless - with plenty of smiles and even some free French lessons from cheerful host (and English speaking) Mr Philip. Whilst meat dishes are available, Vegans and vegetarians – who often find limited choices on many standard menus – have recommended this place to us all several times on visits to the office.

There’s plenty of good little eateries and bars, and perhaps one as good as these above – these are the only ones we’ve tried and tested so far. Do let us know if you’ve found another hidden gem on this street, and we’ll add it.
