This is a wonderful holiday apartment. The superior finish of the Italian travertine floor throughout, vaulted ceilings, combined with the fabulous terrace, means it is worth stretching the budget for if you’re looking for something special. Friends or family whose top lists of wants are location, outside space and superior finish will be hard pushed to find better.

Not available for long lets during Summer high season. Monthly rates based on a minimum stay of 90 nights, which includes all utility bills and internet. A stay tax will apply, which is 3% of the actual stay rate excluding any travel extras. A Booking Fee, plus monthly cleaning fee will also apply.

Floor/Building
This is a high spec, duplex apartment on the top floor of a traditional building. The fairly steep stairs mean it may not be suitable for the elderly or families with babies. Whilst you have to walk up 81 steps over five flights (no lift) to get to it, it is most certainly worth it.

Due to its elevation there is fantastic light and lovely views of the glittering Cathedral dome and also the hills of Nice.

The rental apartment is in a building typical of Nice's Old Town. The common parts have been recently decorated.

There is a pizza restaurant on the ground floor of this building. Some soot may be evident on the terrace from time to time, from the restaurant chimney which is located in the same vicinity as the outside terrace area. Whilst many guests are not troubled by this, some guests find it detracts from their enjoyment of the terrace.


Neighbourhood
The apartment is seconds away from the famous Rossetti square, and the fabulous terrace overlooks the Cathedral St Reparaté. You could not be more in the heart of the Old Town. It is just a few minutes’ walk away from both the Cours Saleya with its daily market and the Promenade des Anglais with the beach just below.

Bus and tram stops are a mere five minute walk away, and for those with their own car, there is also a public car park nearby (from 20-30 euros per day), which can be found under the Cours Saleya.

A fifteen minute stroll will get you to the Port in one direction and the main shopping district in the modern city centre in the other. The main Nice Ville train station is about 25 minutes away on foot or an easy four-stop tram ride.

Living Area
Like most of our rental apartments, the living area and dining area are open plan. More uniquely, the well thought out double glazing that pushes out inside the walls means the terrace can be open plan too! So with a two seater sofa inside, two wicker lounge sofas outside, sun loungers and then the more formal dining area with antique table and eight high backed leather chairs, you will be spoilt for choice for where to relax.

For entertainment there is a 20 inch LCD screen and DVD player, and Wi-Fi is also available.

Kitchen
The open plan kitchen is compact, but again no expense has been spared on the bespoke units, granite worktop and built-in fridge freezer, washing machine / tumble dryer, oven, microwave, four-ring induction hob and dishwasher. Whether for a formal meal on the antique dining table or casual nibbles on the terrace, you will find everything you need.

Bedrooms
The two bedrooms are similar in size and look.

The ground floor bedroom has a super king size bed with reading lamps either side. There is a double wardrobe and chest of drawers and an LCD screen if you prefer to watch TV in bed (DVD's only - this TV has no channels). There is also a small window for natural light looking out into the building atrium.

The second bedroom is upstairs. There is a king size bed along with reading lamps, and a large fitted wardrobe. Again there is a window which, in this case, has a great view of the Cathedral Dome and the Nice hills.

Travel cots will be a struggle in both bedrooms and a travel cot might be better suited to the living area.


Bathroom
The ensuite bathroom leading from the bedroom has a walk in shower, toilet and wash basin. There is also a downstairs bathroom which has a bath with shower attachment, toilet and a wash basin.

How to get there
From the Airport

From the Train Station

By Car

Visit our transport page for full tram, taxi and bus information. Our recommendation from either T1 or T2 is the tram, transfer or taxi.

The Line 2 Tram from either T1 or T2. Fare ride is 1.50€ and takes approximately 40 minutes not including time to change trams. Trams generally run every six minutes. You need to change tramline at Jean Medecin. Disembark at the Vieille Ville - Cathedrale and it’s about three minutes walk to the apartment. Alternatively, if you don't wish to change trams, from late December 2019, when the tram line extension opens you can disembark at Garibaldi / Le Chateau, from where it's a seven minute walk to the apartment.

A transfer with keys, booked through our site, will guarantee you an early check-in of 13:00 and will be a pleasant 20 minute ride. You will be picked up in the arrival terminal by the driver holding a name card, who is in possession of your keys. See our TRAVEL EXTRAS PAGE or select at checkout.

Taxis can be picked up at either terminal.

Please note: Most guests who book a transfer or take a taxi choose to be dropped off at Place St Francois because the Old Town area is pedestrianised and the taxi driver will not be able to drive to the entrance of the apartment building. This is a three minute walk to the apartment.

We can meet you outside the apartment building, or at the Vieille Ville - Cathedrale tram stop, or at Place St Francois, as you prefer.

If you are coming to Nice from somewhere else in France, we recommend you take an SNCF train to Gare Nice Ville.

From the station, the tram provides a cheap, convenient way to get to your apartment. When you leave the Gare, turn left and follow Avenue Thiers, until you come to Avenue Jean Medecin. The trams come every five minutes and tickets cost 1.50€. Take the tram to Cathedrale - Vieille Ville as it is approximately 150 metres from the apartment, which makes the walk easier with luggage.

A transfer with keys, booked through our site, will guarantee you an early check-in of 13:00 and is a 15 minute ride. You will be picked up in the arrival terminal by the driver holding a name card, who is in possession of keys. See our TRAVEL EXTRAS PAGE or select at checkout.

If you prefer to take a taxi from Gare Nice Ville you should ask to be dropped off at Rue Centrale or Place St Francois.

Most guests who book a transfer or take a taxi choose to be dropped off at Place St Francois because the Old Town area is pedestrianised and the taxi driver will not be able to drive to the entrance of the apartment building. This is a three minute walk to the apartment.

The nearest car park to our Nice apartment Cathedrale is Corvesy car park at 3 Rue Alexandre Mari, which is a six minute walk from the apartment. We will send you a GPS reference and full address with your arrival details.

Unfortunately, you can expect to pay up to 30€ a day for parking in central locations.
